Remembering Dr. Herbert Wigwe’s Legacy

We are saddened to bid farewell to a visionary leader whose transformative leadership changed the lives of many in Nigeria & Africa. 

Dr Wigwe was passionate about Nigeria’s Development, Education and equipping the Youth. Here is what he had to say about Development and education at the 2023 NHEF Benefit & Awards Gala in New York, where he was honoured with the 2023 NHEF Leadership in Business Award.

He obtained a Bachelor’s of Engineering -Water Resources and Environmental Engineering – from Ahmadu Bello University. He graduated as the top scholar in his graduating class. UI at 70: SUSTAINING THE LEGACY, RAISING THE BAR Ten years ago, when the University of Ibadan turned 60, the anniversary tagline was “UI:…still towering highest”. The tagline was an eloquent statement of the university’s position amongst other universities in Nigeria and, perhaps, in the sub-region. We had the bragging rights as the First and
