NHEF celebrated four outstanding Africans for their remarkable contributions towards economic development in Africa at the 2023 Benefit & Awards Gala

The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) hosted its prestigious Benefit & Awards Gala on September 22, 2023, at The Pierre Hotel in New York. This remarkable event served as a platform for recognizing outstanding individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of Nigeria and Africa.

The prestigious NHEF Leadership in Business Award was presented to Herbert Wigwe, an esteemed and visionary leader in the business world. Mr Wigwe’s exceptional leadership and strategic initiatives have demonstrated his commitment to driving growth and innovation in the finance and education sectors.

Olukayode Pitan, a distinguished figure with an illustrious career in public service, was presented with the NHEF Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr Pitan’s lifelong dedication, exceptional accomplishments, and unwavering commitment to sustainable development have left an indelible mark on the lives of many Nigerians.

Monique Gieskes was awarded the NHEF Impact Leadership Award. Mrs. Gieskes’ unwavering dedication to creating positive
change and driving sustainable social impact have profoundly impacted Congolese society and inspired a new generation of business transformation in Africa.

Dr. Adewumi Adesina, an influential African agriculture and development figure, received the prestigious NHEF African Transformation Award. Dr Adesina’s innovative and transformative initiatives have played a crucial role in advancing agricultural development across Africa.

The Benefit & Awards Gala was an evening of celebration, reflection, and inspiration. It was a testament to the incredible achievements of these exceptional individuals and their profound impact on society.
