Wale Adeosun Speaks at Cambridge Panel on Building Sustainable Financial Ecosystems in Africa

Wale Adeosun, Founder & CEO of Kuramo Capital Management and Chairman of the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF), joined global leaders at the prestigious Cambridge Africa Business Conference (CABC) to speak on a panel titled: “Seeds Not Supplies: How Africa Cultivates Sustainable Financial Ecosystems and Shifts from Aid Reliance.”

Held at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School, the annual conference convenes influential voices from business, policy, and academia to discuss Africa’s evolving economic landscape.

Mr. Adeosun, a distinguished investment executive and long-standing advocate for African development, shared insights on Africa’s capital landscape, the importance of investing in local markets, and unlocking the continent’s economic potential. His participation underscored the vital role of strong leadership and diaspora engagement in shaping Africa’s financial future.

The panel explored the need to prioritize long-term financial solutions, deepen local capital markets, and shift from aid dependency to building resilient, self-sustaining financial systems. Drawing on decades of experience across global and African markets, Adeosun emphasized the transformative role of private capital, institutional investment, and local capacity building.

As a leader in African private equity and a committed proponent of education and leadership development through his work with the NHEF, Mr. Adeosun continues to shape global discourse on Africa’s development through both financial and human capital lenses.

The NHEF was proudly represented at the conference by two alumnae of its renowned Scholars Program:

  • Chioma Ezeokoye, 2019 NHEF Scholar and current Master’s in Finance candidate at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School

  • Chidinma Jacob, 2019 NHEF Scholar and Associate at Goldman Sachs, UK

Chioma and Chidinma exemplify the NHEF’s mission to cultivate Nigeria’s next generation of leaders through academic excellence, leadership development, and global exposure. Their attendance at the Cambridge Africa Business Conference underscores the growing influence and visibility of NHEF Scholars on international platforms.

“Seeing Scholars like Chioma and Chidinma participate in high-level discussions alongside visionary leaders like Mr. Adeosun is a powerful testament to the impact of the NHEF,” said Claire Jemide, Executive Director of the NHEF. “We are incredibly proud of their leadership and their ongoing contributions to Africa’s future.”
